About Us
Kristin C. Junkin, founder of College Counsel LLC, has provided independent college admissions counseling services since 2003. Prior to that she was the co-owner and president of Outside Counsel, Inc, a legal personnel service in Washington, DC. Outside Counsel hired and placed lawyers in law firms, trade associations, and corporations, and was purchased by Olsten Corporation, an international staffing company.
Mrs. Junkin began her career as a lawyer for a large Washington, DC, law firm and then for fifteen years co-owned a federal government contracting company. She is a summa cum laude graduate of Howard University through a consortium program of five universities in Washington, DC. She was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She also has a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia School of Law where she taught legal writing as a Dillard Fellow.

Mrs. Junkin has served on the Parents Executive Committee at Colby College since 2007, and served on the Parents Board of Directors at Bucknell University from 2004-2008. She is a member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association, the Potomac and Chesapeake Association of College Admission Counseling and the District of Columbia Bar Association.
College Counsel LLC has two associate counselors available to assist clients and provide research support as needed.
